3 Generations of family business
At JPS Plumbing & Property, we're a tight-knit family business that's been keeping Sydney flowing for three generations. It all started with our founder Julian Ugarte Snr., who migrated from Spain and launched the company in 1977 with his wife. His son Julian Jr. followed in the plumbing footsteps, apprenticing under his Dad and becoming a Director in 1988. Now, the third generation has stepped up, with Julian Daniel Ugarte joining as a Director in 2015. Through it all, the Ugarte family's commitment to top-notch work and incredible service has been the secret to the JPS success.

Licenced Plumber with close to 50 years plumbing experience.
Migrated from the North Coast of Spain. He was lured to Australia by his siblings in pursuit of a better life. He originally was employed by Leyland Motors but the outdoor coastal lifestyle that he had been accustomed to, meant his stay there was short lived.
He started his plumbing life with a Bronte-based family business in 1973. He attended TAFE 4 nights a week balancing between Plumbing and English lessons. By 1977 he had started his own business in partnership with his wife. He has never looked back, mentoring dozens of apprentices along the way, amongst those, 3 generations of family plumbers.
The past years of his life, he reduced his work program but still managed to do more work in the days he worked, than most full time plumbers. He had always been a passionate golfer and sporting aficionado. He has left a legacy of knowledge within the remaining generations.
Licenced Plumber with over 35 years plumbing experience. Qualification includes a Certificate IV in Building & Construction and a Certificate IV in teaching and assessment which has been utilised for teaching Plumbing at TAFE.
Just like his parents, Julian migrated from Spain at the age of 7. He completed his schooling to a HSC level before beginning an apprenticeship with his father in 1983. His love for plumbing was demonstrated in the numerous awards that he received. Sporting by nature, he achieved high levels in many disciplines. He has been a Director of the company since its establishment in 1988. He is a hands-on Director and has spent 11 years facilitating Plumbing at TAFE as a measure of payback to an industry that he loves. Over the last few years, road cycling has been his outlet using this platform as a network for business, charity and friendship models.
Licenced Plumber with over 10 years plumbing experience.
Raised amongst a family of Plumbers, Jules adopted the same passion for plumbing as his previous 3 generations. Successful at High School, he studied plumbing to a Certificate IV level in Honours to go with his numerous other awards. He became a Director of JPS in 2015. He has also achieved a very high standard in sports, representing the State and Australia. He has always enjoyed his golf; starting at a tender age of 2. These days he plays off a Sub 10 handicap and is often found on a golf course networking and competing.
Office Manager for over 20 years.
Mary is also a family member. She has been involved with JPS since the beginning. She completed her HSC and then completed a Business School degree. In 1988 she became a Director of the business and has always been the heart of the organisation. The administrative side of JPS is Mary’s platform. Mary has also developed a passion for cooking. If she is not in the office, chances are that she will be in the kitchen. Amongst her many talents, fundraising and charity events has been her strongest achievements.
